On 9th September 2026, people affected by false allegations, wrongful accusations, and miscarriages of justice will come together to mark International Falsely Accused Day.
This annual awareness event is organised independently by the International Falsely Accused Day movement and supporting campaign groups. It provides an opportunity for individuals, families, campaigners, and support organisations to raise awareness of the often devastating impact that false allegations can have on people's lives.
This year, two major awareness events are scheduled to take place on the same day:
London Event
Royal Courts of Justice
Strand, London WC2A 2LL
2:00pm – 4:00pm

Edinburgh Event
Scottish Parliament
Edinburgh EH99 1SP
2:00pm – 4:00pm

Both events are intended to peacefully raise awareness of the issues faced by people who have experienced false allegations and the wider consequences these situations can have on individuals, families, employment, mental health, reputations, and access to justice.
For those unfamiliar with the event, International Falsely Accused Day has developed into an international awareness campaign, with supporters and organisations across different countries recognising the day each year. Information about the history of the movement, upcoming events, support organisations, and international updates can be found on the official website:
At the Falsely Accused Network, we believe that people who have been genuinely affected by false allegations deserve access to support, information, and appropriate professional guidance. While we are not involved in organising International Falsely Accused Day itself, we recognise the importance of raising awareness of these issues and supporting constructive public discussion.
We are pleased to confirm that representatives from the Falsely Accused Network will be attending both the London and Edinburgh events on 9th September 2026 to show support for those affected and to engage with others working in this area.
We would like to extend our respect and appreciation to the organisers, volunteers, campaigners, and support groups who continue to dedicate their time and effort to making these events possible each year.
If you would like to learn more about International Falsely Accused Day, view the full event information, or find additional support organisations involved in the movement, please visit the official website:
We look forward to standing alongside others on 9th September and helping ensure that those affected by false allegations know they are not alone.
