1. Who does the Falsely Accused Network support?
We support anyone in England & Wales who has been falsely accused of domestic abuse. While most of our callers are men, we also help women who face false allegations.
---
2. Do you give legal advice?
No. We are not solicitors and cannot give legal advice. We provide guidance, emotional support, and connect you with trusted legal professionals, McKenzie Friends, and therapists who understand false allegation cases.

---
3. How do I know if I’m eligible for support?
If you are based in England & Wales and facing false allegations of domestic abuse (or related issues such as coercive control or paternity disputes), you can contact us. We’ll ask a few screening questions to see how best we can help.
---
4. Do you charge for your services?
Our helpline is free and will always be free. If we refer you to a solicitor or a McKenzie Friend, their initial call with you will also be free. Anything after that, or any work they take on, will be chargeable. This is always fully explained during the call, and the solicitor or McKenzie Friend will also make sure you understand their fees.
---
5. Can you help with criminal and family court cases?
Yes — we support both. Many of our members face allegations in criminal court, family court, or both. We help you understand the process, prepare questions for your lawyer, and connect you with people who can guide you through hearings.
---
6. Can you help me if I live outside England & Wales?
Unfortunately, we only cover England & Wales because the law is different elsewhere. If you contact us from another country, we may be able to signpost you to local support.
---
7. Are calls confidential?
Yes. Everything you share with us is confidential.
---
8. Do you support women as well as men?
Yes. We are proud to support both. However, the majority of people who come to us are men — around 98–99% of helpline calls.
---
9. Can you refer me to a mental health coach or therapist?
Yes. We work with a fantastic coach and therapist named Aga, based in the North of England. She supports both men and women who have been falsely accused of domestic abuse and/or victims of domestic abuse.
All sessions are held online, so you don’t need to travel, and her rates are kept accessible (£30 per session).
If you’d like a referral, please email us at support@falselyaccusednetwork.co.uk with:
Your full name
Your phone number
A short summary of your situation
Your availability for sessions
We’ll then connect you directly with Aga.
---
10. What cases don’t you deal with?
We do not take on what we call historical cases. By this, we mean situations where there is no realistic probability of court action in the near future. Our resources are focused on people facing cases that are current — already in court, about to go into court, or where there is a genuine possibility of proceedings soon.
We are not in a position to provide long-term emotional release or support for cases that have already ended without any prospect of re-opening.
However, if you are still struggling with the mental health impact of a past case, we can refer you to our coach and therapist, Aga, who provides excellent ongoing emotional support.
We also only cover England & Wales, so unfortunately we cannot provide case support outside this jurisdiction.
---
11. Can you get me a lawyer or a McKenzie Friend who will do my case for free?
No. Absolutely not. That cannot be done. Solicitors and McKenzie Friends cannot take on your case for free.
If you genuinely cannot afford legal support, we recommend you contact the Citizens Advice Bureau, who can advise you on whether you qualify for legal aid or explore other free options that may be available in your area.
---
12. Do you offer a peer support group?
Yes. We run a peer support group on Wix Spaces, which is completely free to join. It’s a safe space where people who have been falsely accused can connect, share experiences, and support one another.
---
13. Do you have a WhatsApp, Signal, or Discord group?
No. Absolutely not. We will never run groups on WhatsApp, Signal, or Discord. These platforms are unsafe, it is impossible to properly safeguard people on them, and they are also well known to be infiltrated by the police.
For safe peer support, we encourage you to join our Wix Spaces group, which is free and properly moderated
---
14. Can you help me sue the police?
No. We cannot help you sue the police — it is not within our area of expertise. If you wish to pursue a claim, you can search online for “no win, no fee” solicitors who specialise in actions against the police. They will be best placed to advise you. We do not have any recommendations in this area.
---
15. Can the Falsely Accused Network fund my case?
No. We simply do not have the resources to fund legal cases. We are very sympathetic to those who cannot afford legal representation, but financial support of this kind is beyond what we can provide.
If you cannot afford a solicitor, barrister, or even a McKenzie Friend, we recommend you contact the Citizens Advice Bureau. They may be able to help directly and advise you whether you qualify for legal aid.
---
16. If I send you my documents, can you read them all and advise me?
No. We cannot read through your documents and give you legal advice. That is the role of a solicitor or a McKenzie Friend.
If you have documents that need reviewing and require legal guidance, we can refer you to a solicitor or a McKenzie Friend. Please note:
They would charge to read your documents.
You would need to become a client of theirs before they can advise you.
This ensures you get the proper, professional legal support your case requires.
