About Falsely Accused Network

Set up by the falsely accused, for the falsely accused.

Practical support at a more manageable cost. You may not need to pay solicitor fees for every step of family court proceedings. We help you explore cost-effective McKenzie Friend assistance alongside specialist legal referrals where appropriate.

Falsely Accused Network (FAN) was established to support people affected by false allegations. We understand that being involved in family court proceedings, particularly where allegations are disputed, can be stressful and difficult to navigate.

Today, our focus is helping people in England and Wales access practical, privately funded McKenzie Friend assistance with family court proceedings.

Why FAN exists

FAN was founded following our founder's personal experience of false accusations. We understand the devastating impact false allegations can have on individuals and families. Our purpose is to support people who have been falsely accused, helping them navigate family court proceedings, prepare for the challenges ahead and access practical, professional support.

Michael Thompson

Founder, Falsely Accused Network

FAN was founded following Michael’s own experience of being falsely accused. He understands how deeply false allegations can affect a person’s life, relationships and family.

That personal experience is at the heart of FAN’s approach: listening to people, treating them with dignity and helping them find practical support when navigating family court proceedings.

What you can expect from us

A clear explanation

We explain what McKenzie Friend assistance can and cannot include, so you can make an informed choice.

Rather than assuming every case needs the same package, we consider your circumstances and the work involved.

Practical preparation

Our service focuses on helping you organise documents, prepare for hearings and understand the practical steps ahead.

Support tailored to your case

We help you access practical family court support, including experienced McKenzie Friends and, where appropriate, referrals to specialist family law solicitors and barristers. Our aim is to ensure you receive the right assistance for your individual circumstances.

Where we work

We assist with suitable family court matters in England and Wales. Our service is privately funded: we do not provide legal aid or free representation. If your matter is a criminal investigation or prosecution, you should seek advice from a criminal defence solicitor.
