Breaking the Silence: My Experience with Voice for Dads and Andy’s Man Club

Written by Michael Thompson, Founder of the Falsely Accused Network

On 25th August, I travelled from Cheshire to Ayr in Scotland to meet Scott, the host of the Voice for Dads podcast.

Scott is a remarkable man who has endured false allegations and the pain of parental alienation. Rather than allow these experiences to silence him, he has chosen to raise awareness and create change. Through his Voice for Dads podcast, he gives fathers a platform to speak openly about their struggles in the family court system and the challenges of fatherhood when faced with false accusations.

It was a privilege to sit down with Scott for a powerful and meaningful discussion. His warmth, honesty, and determination impressed me greatly, and I left feeling energised by his mission to support dads across the UK.

Discovering Andy’s Man Club

After our podcast recording, Scott invited me along to an Andy’s Man Club meeting. Although I had heard of Andy’s Man Club before, I had never attended one. This was my first opportunity to see, first-hand, the difference such groups can make to men’s lives.

Because what is said in Andy’s Man Club is confidential, I won’t go into specific details. What I can say, however, is that I was struck by the atmosphere in the room. The men there spoke with remarkable honesty about their personal struggles and challenges. There was no pretence, no judgement — just real conversations between men who understood what it feels like to carry the weight of life’s pressures.

What stood out most was how the mood of the room shifted so naturally. At times there was laughter as men used humour to lift one another’s spirits. At other moments there was sadness, when difficult experiences were shared. There was also a deep sense of concern and care for each other. It was clear to me that this was more than just a meeting — it was a genuine brotherhood.

I left with a strong impression of Andy’s Man Club as a safe and supportive space for men. It is non-judgmental, welcoming, and rooted in kindness. I would strongly encourage any man who feels he needs to talk to consider attending. It is a place where you will not be judged, but listened to, understood, and supported.

Final Reflections

My journey to Scotland reminded me that out of some of the darkest experiences, real light can emerge. Scott has transformed his struggles into a platform that helps countless fathers. Andy’s Man Club has created a space where men can open up without fear.

Both are powerful reminders that none of us need to face life’s battles alone. Support, brotherhood, and solidarity are out there — we just have to take that first step to reach for it.
