The Forgotten Victims of False Allegations – When the Accuser Is the Abuser

A woman who couldn’t accept rejection falsely branded a man a rapist, paedophile, and woman beater — all because he ended a one-night stand.
Kirsty White, 28, launched a two-month harassment campaign against Andrew Crosby after he told her he wasn’t interested in a relationship. She turned up at his home shouting abuse, published lies on social media, and even stalked him with love notes hidden in bank transfers.
Andrew suffered extreme anxiety. His mother was hospitalised from stress. His father, who suffers from epilepsy, had seizures. He was forced to flee his home and now sofa-surfs with friends.
White was jailed for 43 weeks and given a restraining order — but the scars she left behind will last far longer.

This is not an isolated case.
At Falsely Accused Network, we hear stories like this every week:
A woman makes false claims after being rejected
A man is named and shamed online before any evidence is heard
Families are torn apart by lies
Men are left homeless, jobless, and suicidal
These aren’t rare exceptions. This is a growing problem — and nobody in power wants to talk about it.
What this case shows:
False allegations are a form of abuse.
They are psychologically violent and can destroy every aspect of a person’s life.
Men can be victims.
Our justice system still struggles to treat them as such. The stigma is real, and support is rare.
There must be consequences.
It took months before Kirsty White faced justice. Most victims never see any accountability for the damage done.
Andrew Crosby did nothing wrong. He said no. That’s all. For that, his life was upended.
If this had happened to a woman, there would be national outrage. But when the roles are reversed, the victim gets silence. Or worse, suspicion.
We’re here to change that.
Falsely Accused Network exists to support people like Andrew. We provide:
Expert legal referrals
Mental health support
A private peer support group
Advocacy and campaigning
